Why do you love it?

Good question. I guess mostly because I grew up with it and this is all I have been eating ‘til I was 19, when I moved from Italy and started to taste new flavours. However, I would say Italian food is still my favourite because of the tasty dishes you can create with very simple and cheap ingredients.

How often do you eat it?

Every day 🙂 I bring pasta to work, or I grab a nice wee tab of pasta pesto from the Harvey Nichols’ Deli, which uses high quality ingredients.

How many Italian restaurants in Edinburgh have you been to?

Many, I love eating out.

What are your top 3 recommendations from an Italian restaurant?

I either look for a nice thin and crispy pizza, or a spaghetti carbonara or seafood. Any seafood, but it needs to be high quality (like Locanda De Gusti).

What makes a great Italian restaurant?

Lots of homemade pasta on the menu, fresh bread and house wine 🙂 Cheap and cheerful.

What’s your alternative if you can’t eat Italian?

I like a good burger, and I like Mexican food and/or Spanish tapas. There are some really good places in Edinburgh.

You can only eat at 1 Italian restaurant in Edinburgh for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Osteria del Tempo Perso.

Is there an Italian restaurant you haven’t been to, but want to try?

Many 🙂 Radici Italian Bistro and Locanda De Gusti are in my top list.
