Shackfuyu, London

I am a huge fan of Japanese food and of a tapas style menu, so when my boyfriend suggested Shackfuyu for dinner whilst we were in London, I was all in. This pop up restaurant is in a bustling area of the city, but the restaurant itself has a cosy feel inside; which is a great combination. It has been closed for refurbishment for a few weeks but it is going to be back open later this month – so don’t miss out!

I ordered the margarita, which they put a twist on and it was delicious! After receiving recommendations from the waiter we ordered a mixture of side and main dishes to share. We found it extremely hard to order as the whole menu looked delicious and there was not one dish we ordered that we did not like. The edamame was one of our favourites as it has excellent flavours, but the prawn toast, lime sweetcorn, fried potatoes, whole roasted seabass and hot stone rice were also outstanding.

The french toast dessert looked really good but unfortunately Sam does not like eggs. Kindly, the waiter offered us green tea ice cream which we ordered, and thoroughly enjoyed.

We managed to eat everything, but we were pretty full afterwards. The prices are quite high but I felt that this was mirrored in the quality of the food. For anyone that loves Japanese food, this is the place for you! Shackfuyu offers up a wonderful selection of the best foods in Japan today.
